The certificate program offers students the opportunity to gain the expertise in population
science that is increasingly valued in public health, health care, and human services settings. Students can apply the knowledge and skills related to understanding, assessing, and managing population health to enhance effectiveness in their current work and expand opportunities for their chosen career path.

Program Delivery
Prerequisites for Admission
The preferred undergraduate GPA for admittance to the program
is 3.00.
Other requirements to be completed before admission:
Completed baccalaureate degree required. Strong writing skills, strong math and science grades, and related work experience preferred.
Special Application Requirements:
Applicants must submit to SOPHAS Express, a centralized online application service:
- Completed SOPHAS Express application and application fee, designating the University of Minnesota School of Public Health
- Personal statement describing the applicant's reason for applying, career goals, and how the certificate will help them achieve their goals
- One letter of recommendation
- Official transcripts will need to be sent directly to the School of Public Health.

A minimum GPA of 3.00
is required for students to remain in good standing.
A minimum grade of B- is required for all courses taken.
