The minor helps students integrate their study abroad with supporting University coursework from a variety of disciplines. Since some of the required courses must be taken before departure, careful advance planning is essential. Students are required to complete 4 semester(s) of a language appropriate to country of study. with a grade of C-, or better, or S, or demonstrate proficiency in the language(s) as defined by the department or college.
Minor Courses
COMM 3451 must be taken before departure to study abroad, and COMM 3452 must be taken upon return.
COMM 3451W - Intercultural Communication: Theory and Practice [WI] (3.0 cr)
COMM 3452W - Communication and the Intercultural Reentry [WI] (3.0 cr)
Students must take at least 6 credits of 3xxx-5xxx courses focusing on the country of study.
