The health equity minor promotes understanding of the root causes of health inequalities and explores practice and policy solutions to eliminate health inequalities. Understanding structural factors that lead to health inequalities prepares students to develop strategies to promote health equity. Courses approved for the minor are offered in a variety of disciplines throughout the University.
The minor is the first of its kind, providing students with a competitive edge in work environments and in academia.

Prerequisites for Admission
The preferred undergraduate GPA for admittance to the program
is 3.00.
Other requirements to be completed before admission:
Declaring this minor is contingent upon prior admission to a University master's or doctoral degree-granting program.
Students should first consult with their program advisor, then contact the Health Equity director of Graduate Studies regarding requirements.
