The global nature of public health is increasingly apparent and recognized by all including the United Nations, individual nations and numerous non-governmental agencies (NGOs). Public Health students and professionals also recognize this need and many aspire to careers in global health. The proposed certificate program will leverage Minnesota faculty skills and international connections to provide career-building experiences for our graduate (MS, PhD) and professional (MPH) students.

Prerequisites for Admission
The preferred undergraduate GPA for admittance to the program is 3.00.
Other requirements to be completed before admission:
The Global Health Certificate is designed for students interested in global health who are currently a MPH, MS or PhD student or have an undergraduate or graduate degree or who are currently enrolled in a professional school, i.e., pharmacy, dentistry, medicine, etc.
International applicants must submit score(s) from one of the following tests:
  • TOEFL
    • Internet Based - Total Score: 100
    • Paper Based - Total Score: 600
  • IELTS
    • Total Score: 7.0

Program Requirements
Use of 4xxx courses towards program requirements is not permitted.
A minimum GPA of 3.00 is required for students to remain in good standing.
