College of Education and Human Service Professions
This certificate is designed for undergraduate or graduate students in any major or business professionals who are interested in expanding their knowledge and skills in educational computing and technology. The certificate provides basic-through-advanced training in computer hardware and software skills and other peripherals to include but not limited to iPads, iPad Apps, scanners, and Smartboards. Further, this certificate also provides instruction focused on reviewing and evaluating technology tools and allowing students to teach with those technology skills. In addition, the third course provides technology skill development with a focus on the administrative responsibilities. This would include such topics as: technology grant writing, the responsibilities of a technology committee, designing 21st century classrooms/facilities, and for designing professional development opportunities for colleagues and the greater community area. Finally, the certificate expands their technology skills in regard to teaching or delivering professional development training on-line and/or with hybrid coursework with a variety of different Learning Management Systems (LMS).
The program is designed for educational professionals, paraprofessionals, and those in the business world. Student projects are tailored to your personal interests and emphasize practical application for use in school classroom and /or business settings.
The certificate is at one of three levels: undergraduate, graduate, or noncredit; students must decide at what level they wish to pursue this program BEFORE enrolling in the first course as one cannot change ones’ level once initiated.
The certificate is not eligible for financial aid.

Admission Requirements
Students must complete
60 credits
before admission to the program.
A GPA above 2.0 is preferred for the following:
Completed 60 semester credits, have an overall GPA of 2.5, and have satisfactorily completed at least two-thirds of the most recent 30 semester credits attempted.
If you have completed a bachelor's degree, you may choose to earn the certificate at the undergraduate level. Once admitted to the undergraduate certificate, you will not be allowed to change your undergraduate certificate credits to graduate certificate credits at a later time.
