The K-12 technology integration certificate program prepares students to use technology (computers and the web) to develop instructional materials for use in a wide range of educational contexts. The program is designed for K-12 teachers or administrators interested in using technology in the classroom.
Program Delivery
  • primarily online (at least 80% of the instruction for the program is online with short, intensive periods of face-to-face coursework)
Prerequisites for Admission
The preferred undergraduate GPA for admittance to the program is 3.00.
Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or be currently enrolled in a University of Minnesota graduate-level degree program.
Other requirements to be completed before admission:
Applicants must submit the following online: - Unofficial transcripts from all post-secondary institutions that have been attended or are currently being attended, except the University of Minnesota - A one page goal statement For complete application instructions, please see the program's website.
International applicants must submit score(s) from one of the following tests:
  • TOEFL
    • Internet Based - Total Score: 79
    • Internet Based - Writing Score: 21
    • Internet Based - Reading Score: 19
    • Paper Based - Total Score: 550
  • IELTS
    • Total Score: 6.5
  • MELAB
    • Final score: 80
The preferred English language test is Test of English as Foreign Language.

Program Requirements
Use of 4xxx courses towards program requirements is not permitted.
A minimum GPA of 2.80 is required for students to remain in good standing.
Transfer credits may not be applied to this certificate program. Certificate coursework completed as an undergraduate student cannot be applied to graduate level degree programs.
