The Business Research M.S. is a terminal master's degree option restricted to eligible Business Administration Ph.D. students who do not complete the doctoral degree. Applications to the Business Research M.S. are not otherwise considered.
Program Delivery
Prerequisites for Admission
The preferred undergraduate GPA for admittance to the program
is 3.00.
Other requirements to be completed before admission:
Applicants must be currently enrolled Ph.D. student in Business Administration who have completed the core and concentration credits (minimum of 40 total course credits)required by their Ph.D. in Business Administration degree and who have passed the written preliminary examination at the master's level based on a set of criteria developed by a business faculty committee.

Program Requirements
Plan C: Plan C requires
24
major credits and
16
credits outside the
major.
There is no final exam.
This program may be completed with a minor.
Use of 4xxx courses toward program requirements is permitted under certain conditions with adviser approval.
A minimum GPA of 3.30
is required for students to remain in good standing.
At least 4 semesters must be completed
before filing a Degree Program Form.
To receive the MS degree in Business Research, a current Ph.D. student in Business Administration must complete the required minimum of 40 credits of major and supporting coursework and pass the preliminary written exam at the master's level, based on a set of criteria approved by the Carlson School PhD Committee with members from all seven areas of concentration.
