The information design minor gives students 1) knowledge and experience with information technologies from a liberal arts, rather than a technical perspective; 2) practice in applying principles of rhetoric, design, cultural theory, ethics, and creative thinking to the production of information-design projects; 3) the ability to write about and discuss information-design practices and digital culture in critically informed ways; 4) experience in developing successful creative relationships with writing/design communities, clients, audiences, and support staff; 5) skills in using a variety of software.
